Bojan Dolenc, Member of the Board of Management, Workers' Director

Bojan graduated at the Faculty of Natural Sciences in Ljubljana with a degree in Pharmacy. He broadened his knowledge and management skills at the IEDC School of Management in Bled, where he completed a course in management, and at one of the world’s leading business schools, IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland.

His career at Lek began in 1984, when he worked as a researcher for one year, and in the next year he became Head of Packaging Development. His major achievements in this area include the reorganization of the department, reengineering of processes and the introduction of advanced information solutions in support of the process. In 1991 and 1992 he was Head of Logistics at Lek.

Bojan also has international experience, having worked as a site head in Poland (1992 to 1994), where he managed the construction of a distribution center and the startup of a new packaging plant in the town of Pruszkow near Warsaw.

In 1995 he became Head of the Lek Production Plant in Prevalje, where he oversaw the construction of a new penicillin products factory. Between 1996 and 2002 he was Head of Production at the Ljubljana site, where he made a significant contribution to the successful launching of Lek’s first drugs for the US market, and was one of the keys to the success of the Omeprazole project in the US and on other markets.

From 2002 to 2006 he returned to Poland, where he worked on the integration of the Polish company Argon (acquired by Lek in 2001) into the Lek organization. He was in charge of the integration of Lek and Hexal’s production in Poland into Sandoz global production network.

Bojan was in charge of the construction of the new production/logistics plant in Strykow, Poland, an investment valued at EUR 70 million, and served as its first director after its opening in 2004.

Since November 2006 he has worked as the Head of Oral Solids Production in Ljubljana.

On June 1, 2009 Bojan was appointed Head of the Lek Site in Prevalje.

Since July 7, 2009 he has been a member of the Lek Board of Management and a Workers’ Director.
