Last year, Lek also built a treatment plant in Lendava together with the local community.

Lek strives for a good relationship with the local community, and is seeking to become an important player in the socio economic development in the entire region.
Today, Lek opened the doors to its facility and hosted its neighbors, partners and anyone interested in becoming better acquainted with its business operations. In addition, this occasion gave us an opportunity to elaborate in greater detail about who Lek is and what Lek does, and to pay tribute to Earth Day, which we celebrate April, 22nd. Lek in compliance with its business orientation does not concentrate on sustained growth alone, but is concerned with both protecting the environment, and observing the environmentally safe and efficient manufacturing.
Lek’s representatives introduced the visitors, among which the inquisitive school children were the most numerous, to our products and the ways they are produced. The guests could also tour part of the manufacturing plant in Lendava. It was talked about Lek d.d., Lek Kozmetika , and Lek’s environmental policies. The visitors could also observe how the incinerator of production wastes works; how the waste is collected and the wastewater treated. The representatives also explained in great detail the air bio-filtration process, which helps lower emissions of unpleasant odors, and procedures for lowering noise levels.
“ We at Lek understand that being environmentally responsible means more than just meeting the legal requirements. We are environmentally conscious already in the planning stages, as well as in managing manufacturing and R&D processes,” stated dr. Aleš Rokavec, director of Pharmaceutical Ingredients Manufacturing in Lendava, at the occasion.
All guests were also encouraged to visit the Lendava Treatment Plant and see how it works. The Lendava Treatment Plant, which Lek is particularly proud of, is an independent company.
