Slovenia Development Centre

One of the Sandoz key development centers is implementing about one-quarter of the Sandoz global development activities.

The Development Centre Slovenia is home to research and development activities in the field of classic generic drugs. We focus on the development of difficult-to-make solid and injectable forms. We are successfully meeting the challenges of the most complex products in terms of patents, and are therefore also involved in Novartis’ development projects.

The Development Centre Slovenia based in Ljubljana and the Biopharmaceuticals Development Centre based in Mengeš act as strong links in the Sandoz global development network and in Slovenian development activity. Their achievements, which are a result of co-operation between our experts, universities and research institutes, thus significantly contribute to the achievements of Sandoz.

In 2009, the Development Centre Slovenia had about 300 associates.
