Achievements

In 2009, the portfolio of finished pharmaceutical products comprised over 220 development projects, 24% of which were being carried out for the US market, 33% for the EU, 15% for Canada, 10% for Australia, 12% for Brazil and 6% for Japan.

Sandoz is the first and only company to have launched a generic form of Prograf ® capsules on the US market, for which we developed the active ingredient tacrolimus.

The entire development portfolio of active pharmaceutical ingredients involved a total of 30 development projects.

We have successfully introduced new products to the Canadian market, some European markets – including Slovenia – and we have increased the number of launches of already established products to new markets.

We have finalized the development of 30 new pharmaceutical products and filed respective applications for registration. Thirty percent of these products use an active pharmaceutical ingredient which we developed ourselves.
