Simon Rečnik, PhD, Member of the Board of Management of Lek d.d.

Simon Rečnik holds a PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Ljubljana (2002) and an MBA from The Open University Business School, Milton Keynes, UK (2015). He is a passionate advocate of inclusive, inspiring and sustainable leadership and an ICF-accredited coach.

He started his career at Lek in 2003 as a Quality Management specialist in Prevalje. During over ten years at Prevalje, he supported the quality management of the Linex Mengeš plant, managed the Prevalje Quality unit and the key Operational Excellence programme, and for two years led Sandoz’s global project at the Holzkirchen site.

Since 2013, he has been the Head of Lendava Solids, leading it from a start-up unit to the largest production site for packaging solids with the most extensive portfolio of medicines in Novartis.

He is very active in the local and regional environment in North-East Slovenia. He was also President of the Maribor Lent Rotary Club.

Since February 2023 he has been a member of the management team at Sandoz Slovenia, where he is responsible for Technical Operations. In this role, he acts as the coordinator of production sites, Supply, Procurement, ESO, HSE, Engineering and Quality for Slovenia.

Simon Rečnik has been appointed a member of the Board of Management of Lek as of July 4, 2023, in the area of Technical Operations.
