Marko Hauptman, Member of the Board of Management of Lek d.d.

Marko Hauptman graduated from the veterinary technician program at the agri-food secondary school in Ljubljana in 1989. In 2002, while working full time, he also earned a bachelor’s degree in production technologies at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences at the University of Maribor.

He joined Lek in 1989 as an intern. After having finished the compulsory military service, he returned to Lek in Ljubljana, where he worked as a technician, shift lead, unit lead and finally as a technologist in the packaging unit.

In 2007, he joined the newly-established team of the Lendava Packaging Center, where he first assumed the position of Head of Technology. Later, he became the Head of Manufacturing Sciences and Technology, where he to this day remains responsible for the management and transfer of products, validation, compliance, and introduction of new technologies. As a project leader, he was responsible for the transformation of the Novartis portfolio and oversaw the transfer of the first innovative molecules and equipment to Lendava, between 2018 and 2020.

He has been a member of the Workers council since 2013 and currently serves as its vice-president. He is also a member of the Sandoz Euroforum.

Marko Hauptman was appointed the Lek d.d. Workers’ Director on March 12, 2024.
