Innovation gold for our associates
At the Innovation Day on September 19, 2023, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, we received a gold and a bronze award for innovation at the national level.
The gold award went to the Sugammadex solution for injection development project and the bronze award to a new production development process for potassium clavulanate.

Slovenian Chemistry Days 2023
The Slovenian Chemistry Days 2023 conference took place as a three-day science event from September 13 to 15, 2023, with a wide range of expert lectures and a rich accompanying program, as well as a competition for the best student scientific paper.
Lek, a Sandoz company, joined the conference as a diamond partner. Our associate, Head of Early Stage Development at the Slovenian Development Center, Zdenko Časar, PhD, was included in several award evaluation committees; Early Stage Development researcher, Aljaž Abe, made a presentation about our company in the exhibition hall; Head of Analytical Development at the Slovenian Development Center, Bojan Mitrović, PhD, gave a keynote speech at the gala conference dinner, highlighting the recent major investments in development and manufacturing capacities in Slovenia, all of which showcase Sandoz's commitment and our development of generic and biosimilar medicines in Slovenia.
A visitor to Lek's stand also shared their impression of the conference: "I was invited to the Slovenian Chemistry Days conference as an exhibitor because of my master's thesis, which dealt with the production of hydrogen peroxide in a sustainable way. I am looking forward to making new acquaintances at the event and to expanding my chemistry knowledge beyond my niche."
AmCham Slovenija – Best of the Best
We were among the finalists of the AmCham Slovenia Best of the Best project, which highlights excellent business practices. The panel of experts was impressed by the Young Advisory Board project – an innovative initiative for our young talents, who are trained in strategic thinking and work directly with the President of the Board of Management and other members of the senior management team.
Fingers crossed we will continue to be placed among the top projects that will compete for the title of Best of the Best at the end of the year.
